CRAFTING AND AGING
The Viura grapes come from a plot that has been studied and vinified independently since 2010 and that winemker has chosen because oenologically provides something else. Located in an area called Sotés in Rioja Alta, at more than 650 metres altitude with vines that are more than 85 years old in poor and rough soils. The small clusters are concentrated and rich in aromas, with exquisite acidity and a moderate level of alcohol giving freshness.
Tasting note
LOOK: A bright, straw yellow colour.
AROMA & PALATE: While there is plenty of butterscotch and vanilla in the background, it doesn’t overpower the attractive mineral notes and ripe pear. Full-bodied and quite oily on the palate, but the acidity cuts right through the buttery texture.
