Variety

100 % Garnacha Blanca

A vintage marked by a short vegetative cycle, with little rainfall and high temperatures from May to August. This led to optimal sanitary conditions for ripening. The harvest began early and extended over a period of 88 days. A vintage with record high temperatures and summer drought, with only 60 mm of rainfall in June and no water until September, when we had significant rainfall close to harvest time, which in our garnacha blanca vineyard was not noticeable. The temperature during the harvest months reached over 40 degrees Celsius. As a result, the yield of the estate decreased compared to the previous year.

Located in the Alhama River valley, more specifically in the Barranco del Cora, 590 meters above sea level. Planted in 2014, with a slope of less than 3% and a NNW–SSE orientation on alluvial soils with sandy deposits. Deep and porous soil.

Testimonials

Garnacha Blanca is a traditional variety that is increasingly being made as a stand-alone white. This one comes from a comparatively young vineyard at 590 metres in the Rioja Oriental, with fermentation in 50% new wood, aromas of green tea, jasmine and wild herbs and flavours of pear, vanilla spice and pineapple. 2026-29

Made from a pellicular maceration and soft pressing.

The free-run must ferments in raw cement tanks and remains in contact with its lees for 5 months.

It is then transferred to new French oak bocoys with light toasting, where it will evolve for 7 months in contact with its lees, with battonage every two days.

After bottling, the wine rested for 6 months in the winery’s underground cellars.

Color

Very bright and clean, appealing straw-yellow color, with golden reflections.

Smells

On the nose, it is subtle and gradually fills with nuances after oxygenation. Very clear mineral notes combine with sweet white chocolate, baked bread, and a light background of mint. After a few minutes, apple jam appears.

Taste

Silky and smooth on the palate. Very glyceric, with a strong acidity that links the ripe white fruit and the high-quality toasted French oak. Very long and persistent. Delicious finish with a very present mineral touch.
